In the second week of the season, the Eastern New Mexico University women's rodeo team registered a third-place finish at the Sul Ross State rodeo. The men's team finished in 11th place.
The women's team accumulated 80 points through a strong performance in the goat tying. Weatherford College won the rodeo with 320 points, while Tarleton State was the runner up, with 310 points.
Lindsey Adcock rebounded from a sixth-place performance to win the goat tying, and won both the short round and average. Celie Vick and Paxton Segelke took fifth and sixth, respectively, in the event.
Adcock also split fifth and sixth in the first round of the breakaway roping, with teammate Tierra Gray. Samantha Smith finished tenth in the barrel race.
Logan Vick placed fifth in the steer wrestling for the men's team, while Eli Lord was third in the first go.
The Eastern New Mexico University rodeo team will return to action this weekend, for the Vernon College rodeo. The event will run from Thursday through Saturday, in Vernon, Texas.
