Greyhounds beat Aggies

On Friday October 16, the Greyhound volleyball team faced the Cameron University Aggies at Greyhound Arena.

The game started off rough for the Greyhounds with the first set ending in favor of the Aggies, with a score of 23 to 25. It was not until the second set that Lindsay Bost was able to turn the tables in favor of the Hounds after two aces in a row. The score ended the second at 25 to 16.

The Hounds were able to keep the momentum going in the third and fourth sets of the game. The third and fourth sets both ended with scores leaving the Aggies trailing in the teens.

Andrea Aguilar said that she believed Friday’s game was a breakthrough for the team and they were able to figure each other out. “Our practices this week were really difficult”, Aguilar said. “We just tried to figure out our chemistry all week and I think tonight we found it,” said Aguilar about Friday’s win.

Coach, Sia Poyer said that he was happy they won. “We served really tough,” Poyer said. “Without even seeing the stats, I feel we did well with the defense,” Poyer added.

With less than 24 hours between matches, the Hounds could rest a little easier knowing they were able to pull away the win Friday night.
