CCC Juried Art Exhibit
Clovis Community College will be holding their fifth annual juried student art exhibit and is allowing the students of Eastern New Mexico University to participate, this being the fourth year to do so.
“It’s good for our artists to see what other artists are doing,” said Carolyn Lindsey, an art instructor and head of the Fine Arts Division at CCC.
The art will be displayed in the Eula Mae Edwards Museum and Gallery on the CCC campus from November 16, 2015 until January 15, 2015.
The last date to submit artwork is on Sunday, November 8, 2015 at noon.
This show is held to “increase awareness of art students and to encourage them to stretch themselves, to push themselves artistically,” said Lindsey.
The show is open to works of art created through graphic design as well as fine art, sculpting, pottery, painting, drawing, photography and even glass blowing.
With this show, Lindsey and the art department a CCC hope to increase awareness of what other students on other campuses are doing.
“We are a small school, and we only have students for a limited time. It’s important to see what four-year schools are doing,” said Lindsey, of inviting ENMU students to participate.
Along with showcasing the artwork of college students, CCC will also be hosting a workshop for high school students.
“It allows them to go down and see the show, and to see what the students of CCC and ENMU are creating,” Lindsey said.
