Produce To People Event is Moving to Curry County Fairgrounds
iCan, the Three7 project and the Food Bank of Eastern New Mexico are teaming up again for the monthly Produce to People event. On Monday, March 28, 2016, we will be serving our neighbors free and fresh produce from 1 p.m. to 3 p.m.
The event has moved its distribution to the Curry County Fairgrounds at 1900 E Brady in Clovis right underneath the Arena Grandstand.
Produce to People gives community members a chance to pick out the fruits and vegetables they like. Some items will be limited due to availability. This event is open to the public so come out, bring your own bags (2-5), and gather your favorite produce.
“Having a chance to get healthy food is a great way not only to help feed the community, but to actually ensure proper nutritional needs are being met,” says Stephanie Losoya, Marketing Specialist at the Food Bank of Eastern New Mexico
Produce to People will be offered the fourth Monday of every month.
Produce to People began in September 2015 and is part of the Ideas for Cooking and Nutrition, or iCan, program, which is provided by the NMSU Cooperative Extension Service.
In its 32nd year, the Food Bank of Eastern New Mexico partners with 19 schools and 32 agencies to deliver emergency food to families and individuals in Curry, Roosevelt, Quay, De Baca, Guadalupe and Torrance counties in Eastern New Mexico.
