Fall Celebrations

Fall is for changing leaves, pumpkin patches, haunted houses and hot coffee. For many individuals, fall is their favorite time of year. So, how do Eastern New Mexico students ring in the season?

Micah Morris is a junior who is majoring in Biology with a minor in athletic training, and she likes to celebrate fall in a plethora of ways.

“Autumn is not my favorite season, but it is a close second to summer,” said Morris.

Although you cannot beat that summer heat, the crunch of crisp fall leaves and a cool fall breeze is something to cherish come this season.

Along with fall comes different activities for individuals to take part in with their partner or good friends.

“My favorite fall activity to do during the fall is watch college football. Whether it's rooting on the Greyhounds or watching games on TV, I love spending my Saturdays watching the boys of fall with my friends and family,” said Morris.

Sometimes the fall weather can get a little brisk, and some would rather stay at home than be out and about.

Fall is the season where it is the perfect excuse to curl up on the couch and marathon Harry Potter, or your favorite film.

Freeform is now playing “13 Nights of Halloween,” and some movies that are included are: The Nightmare Before Christmas, Hocus Pocus, and The Addams Family.

Additionally, fall also comes with fashion. It is time to bring out scarves, riding boots and your favorite sweaters. Morris’ “go-to” fall outfit is a cardigan with a scarf, leggings, and her favorite pair of riding boots.

One of the best things about fall is hot drinks and the tasty, comforting food. Whether it is pumpkin related or not, you cannot ring in the season without some tasty fall treats. To a college student, anything homemade is like receiving a rare gift after eating endless amounts of Taco Bell and frozen meals.

If you have not already done so, take an evening walk in the fall air, order a pumpkin spice latte, and buy that scarf. It is not too late to go out and celebrate the fall season!
