For some Eastern New Mexico University (ENMU) students, the last upcoming weeks of the semester are the last time they will ever be on the ENMU campus as students.
Fall commencement is less than three weeks away, and many students have jobs lined up to kick start their lives after college. Four soon-to-be grads shared their plans with The Chase.
Amanda Schaap, 21, Communication with an emphasis in Public Relations
“After graduation, I will be moving to Albuquerque after graduation to pursue a job in the medical field as a sales representative.”
Tyler Howard, 21, University Studies with an emphasis in Hospitality Management
“I am a Guest Service Agent at Hawthorne Suites. This has served as a great line of access into my field of study.” Howard left his hometown of Portales, NM in May to move to Lubbock, TX to begin working for Peal Hospitality. Howard is also an Associated Students of Eastern New Mexico (ASENMU) senator.
Angelina Gonzales, 22, Psychology with Chemistry minor/Biology with an emphasis in Pre-Medical Studies
“I have been rehired at Brain and Behavioral Associates in Albuquerque as a Cognitive Assessment Administrator. The job started as an internship but I was later asked to remain an employee for the company.” Gonzales will start at the job just 2 days after graduation to assess the cognitive abilities in patients with a multitude of brain injuries or other neurological disorders. She also plans to go to medical school or enter into a PHD program of neuropsychology.
Leonard “Cisco” Tapia, 21, Communication with an emphasis in Broadcast Journalism
“I have been offered a job as a reporter in Roswell for KOB 4, if all things go as planned, in January.” Tapia has been a reporter for News 3 New Mexico with KENW throughout his time as a student at ENMU.
