DIY Christmas Gifts
Gone are the turkey's and Thanksgiving decorations, now it is the season of tinsel, holiday movies and hot chocolate.
Other than spending time with loved ones and opening your presents on Christmas, there is also getting gifts for your friends and family members.
When it comes to college students, we do not always have the extra money to give extravagant gifts this holiday season. However, thankfully there are crafty ideas for DIY presents that you can give to your loved ones.
DIY mug: There are mugs at dollar tree and assorted sharpies that can be found at Walmart. You take the mug and decorate it with funny sayings about coffee, tea or designs. Second, leave the mug to dry over night before placing in the oven. Once dry, place the mug in the oven at 350 degrees for thirty minutes. After it has baked, leave it to sit and then wrap it for gift giving!
Gifts in a jar: Go to Walmart or the dollar store and get the cheapest mason jar or larger jar that you can find. Fill the jar of your choosing with goodies, such as: their favorite snacks, canned foods, gum, pens, candy or coffee. Decorate the jar with stickers or ribbon, then give it as a gift for your friend or loved one!
DIY sugar scrub: a sugar scrub is a great gift this holiday season especially for these cold and dry winter months. For this gift you will need brown or white organic sugar, olive or coconut oil, and an essential oil of your choice. Grab a large mixing bowl, and place ½ cup of sugar, ½ cup of oil and a couple drops of essential oil into the bowl. Then place the scrub into an airtight jar and decorate the jar as you wish. This gift will leave your skin feeling smooth for the holidays!
These DIY gifts should wow your family members and friends this holiday season. Make sure to spend it with loved ones and be grateful for what you have.
