ENMU Hosts Career Fair on March 30
Hosted each semester, Eastern New Mexico University (ENMU) Career Fair is a great opportunity for students seeking a professional career after college. On March 30, 2017 from 12 p.m. to 4 p.m. in the Campus Union Ballroom in the Ballroom, the event invites ENMU students to network and develop stronger interviewing skills.
Students and Community members who attend Eastern New Mexico University’s (ENMU) Career Fair should expect to find an array of advice and strategies for professionalism.
“When you walk in, you are seen as a professional,” said Maddie Bishop, Career Counselor for ENMU. Important reminders to think about, prior to the Career Fair, are: 1.) It is ok to be nervous 2.) Dress professionally 3.) Research the companies 4.) Have multiple copies of your resume 5.) Expect to be there for a while 6.) You may have the opportunity for loan forgiveness and 7.) Numerous companies come to recruit.
“It’s ok to be nervous but know that these people are here for you and to help you and they are wanting to talk to you as much as possible,” said Bishop.
When preparing, Counseling and Career Services’ website has helpful tips for students thinking about attending this event. A few examples include short videos, resume templates, and student jobs.
