University seeks alcohol license

According to Eastern New Mexico University Vice President of Student Affairs Jeff Long, the university has had some requests over the years to serve alcohol on campus.

The message was received, according to Long, and an application for an alcohol license is in the process of being completed. Currently the board working on this application does not know how long it will be before the application will be reviewed and approved by the state, said Long. However, if the license is approved, it would cover selected spaces all over campus, including the Campus Union Building Ballroom, the Greyhound Stadium and the Greyhound Arena when there are no athletic events.

Long said it could prove to be a fun addition to campus events, keeping responsibility and the Safe Ride services in mind.
