Many events anticipated in the ENMU arts

The Alla Parsons art show is one of many events taking place in Eastern New Mexico University's arts.

There are “lots of wonderful things happening in the music department this semester” at Eastern New Mexico University this semester, according to Jason Paulk, director of choral activities.

Some of the events the music department will have include Swanee Singers and the ENMU Jazz Band at 7 p.m. Feb. 21 in Buchanan Hall in the ENMU Music Building and Titanic: The Musical at 7 p.m. March 1 and 2 in Buchanan Hall.

The art department also has many things in store for the local community. There is currently an exhibition in the ENMU Golden Student Success Center titled “Paintings by Parsons.”

Alla Parsons is an art department faculty member at ENMU. According to gallery Director Bryan Hahn, the current art show entails beautiful paintings.

The art department will also host the K through ENMU 10th Annual Juried art show. Any student kindergarten through seniors in college can submit a piece to be considered for the show. Following that, the art department will have the University Juried Exhibition, which is only open to ENMU students. The last art show of the semester will be the senior exhibition. All of the art shows will be held in the Runnels Gallery in the Golden Student Success Center.

In addition, the department will have a day of art with a sidewalk chalk competition.

• ENMU Choirs in Concert at 7 p.m. April 18

• Greg Gallagher Voice Recital at 7 p.m. May 2
