ENMU Board of Regents meeting

The new regent, Lance Pyle, and the new student regent, Joseph Gergel, were sworn in at the March 29 meeting in Ruidoso.

The Eastern New Mexico University Board of Regents held their monthly meeting on March 29 at the Ruidoso Convention Center. During the meeting the actions were taken by regents:

  • Regents approved amendments and/or additions to the following policies: Payroll, Computer Use,Broadcast Messages on ENMU System Electronic Mail (Email),Technology Purchases and Computer Relocations, Campus Wireless Networks, Banner Administration, Maintenance and User Passwords, Telephone Use, Confidential Information Security, and Inspection of System Records, and Archives and Records

  • Approvedthe establishment of a Ruidoso Branch Community College Board that will work with Eastern New Mexico University Board of Regents as an operating agreement.

  • Approved a renewable energy emphasis in Electronic Engineering Technology– The Department of Mathematics located in the College of Liberal Arts and Sciences is proposing the addition of Renewable energy emphasis for the B.S. and BAAS in Electronic Engineering Technology. The board discussed degree requirements, course descriptions, and projected cost of implementation.

  • Approved a name change within the Student Government Association Constitution– The request was to change the name of Associated Students of Eastern New Mexico University (ASENMU) to Eastern New Mexico University Student Government Association (ENMU SGA). Constitutions were updated to reflect the information.

  • Approved the recommendations made by the Student Fees Committee for allocations of student fees to student organizations.

  • A discussion regarding the building of a new presidential residence was tabled until the next meeting on April 19 in Portales.
