Freshmen Excited for ENMU Experience
Each fall semester, a new freshman class arrives at Eastern New Mexico University, bringing with them excitement and goals to pursue during their college careers.
Kristian Gobel, a Portales native, is a graphic design major. Although he may be familiar with Portales, college life has certainly led to a change of perspective for Gobel. He has found a new group of friends and enjoys spending time with them in the Campus Union Building. “I like getting to hang out with everyone before going to class,” Gobel said.
Mathew Henry, a computer science major, came to ENMU with a clear goal to earn his degree, and to create a great life for himself. “Four years of hard work make for an easy life,” Henry said. He enjoys listening to music, and spending time studying with other Kappa Sigma members. After he graduates, Henry hopes to begin his career in cyber security or information technology – two fields for which he holds a great passion.
ENMU offers a variety of services and resources to its students, something Jace Allen appreciates. “I really like how accessible everything is here, and how helpful it is to have tutors here,” said Allen. When Jace is not studying in the Golden Student Success Center, he enjoys playing video games and making late night runs to Taco Bell with his friends.
