Etiquette Dinner Promises Professional Development
The Associated Students Activities Board will be hosting their Annual Etiquette Dinner on March 24 for students looking to develop their professional skills.
After graduating ENMU, students will likely have to go through the interview process in order to secure a job and pursue their career. Often, this can include a final professional dinner with the employer. The Etiquette Dinner aims to provide students with experience in presenting themselves professionally and learning proper table manners in a formal setting.
Those attending will be randomly assigned a table within the Campus Union Building ballroom, and each table will have a teacher or professional there to guide them through the process. Students will be taught how to present themselves, when to eat, how to properly use utensils and other lessons that will help them make good impressions in the future. Additionally, students will be asked interview style questions to practice their conversational skills amidst a formal dinner.
Students attending are encouraged to dress in business style attire, and the evening will end with a style show presenting the best dressed. In attendance will also be a gender non-conforming interviewer who will serve as an example and guide to transgender or non-binary students seeking to stake their claim in the professional world.
Tickets are available at no charge in the CUB at the ASAB office, where attendees can also decide between a vegan or non-vegan option for dinner.
