In response to the unusual fall semester at Eastern New Mexico University, the Student Association of Social Workers has created a weekly virtual event to help students succeed.

The weekly event is called Let’s Get Organized and it is available to any and all ENMU students, regardless of their classification, major or program. LGO is hosted every Friday from 1:00 to 2:00 p.m. (MST).

Tyleen Caffrey, who is the faculty liaison for the SASW, saw the need for students to become more organized in order to be more successful students and pitched the idea to the SASW who made the event a reality.

Kelsey Walker, president of the SASW shared that these virtual meetings are a causal environment, where everyone is welcome, that not only offer assistance for students, but also healthy socialization with fellow students during a semester where in-person classes are cancelled.

“Students should attend if they are struggling to stay on track and stay organized, if they are having trouble with balancing a busy schedule, and even if they just want to hang out,” said Walker. “LGOs are more relaxed than the regular class environment, and it is a good opportunity to hang out with fellow ENMU peers.”

Students can find the link to attend in their weekly student emails.
