One ingredient that I personally love to cook with is chipotle! Chipotle can be combined with many delicious ingredients to create amazing meals. With all the different ways it can be prepared, it can have a sweet taste, or it can be spicy, depending on your preference.

There are countless recipes that feature chipotle, both in restaurants and in homemade recipes. For example, Chili’s Honey Chipotle Crispers are to die for! So, if you haven’t tried them, I highly recommend it! Another great way to use chipotle in a dish is with shrimp. Deviled shrimp is an amazing meal made with shrimp in a spicy sauce that’s created using several different kinds of peppers. As I have stated before there are numerous possibilities to cook with chipotle, but today I am going to teach you my version of Chicken Tinga Tostadas.

Chicken Tinga Tostadas is chicken with a chipotle-tomato sauce. You put the Chicken Tinga on a tostada, add lettuce, cheese, sour cream, maybe even some avocado! I’m sure your mouth watered already so let’s begin.

• 1 can of chipotle peppers

• 1 can of tomato sauce

• ¼ cup of cooking oil

• 3 garlic cloves

• White onion

• Lettuce

• 8 ounces or shredded muenster cheese (or any preferred cheese)

• 1 Avocado

• 1 cube of Chicken Bouillon

• Salt

• ½ cup of water

• 4 chicken breasts

Step 1

Place the chicken breast in a large pot with water. Add 1 tablespoon of salt and 2 garlic cloves. Cook for 20-25 min, then remove when the chicken is no longer pink. Let chicken cool and shred.

Step 2

Take half of the onion and cut it in slices. Then in a pan heat up ¼ cup of cooking oil. Then place the onions in the pan with oil and fry until transparent. Then add the chicken.

Step 3

In a blender, blend the 2 chipotle peppers (for mild heat) or less depends how spicy you like your food. Add ½ white onion, tomato sauce, the cube of chicken bouillon, the remaining garlic clove and a ½ cup of water. Blend until all the ingredients have liquified. In this step you can taste the sauce and add more chicken bouillon if you feel it is missing salt.

Step 4

Add the tinga sauce to the chicken with onions and bring to a boil.

Step 5

To serve, place the chicken tinga on a tostada. You can add cheese, sour cream, lettuce, and avocado slices.

Chicken Tinga Tostadas are a quick and delicious meal to make. It usually takes about 30 minutes to an hour to complete. If you want to save more time, you can also buy a rotisserie chicken. That way you can cut the time in half by not having to cook the chicken yourself. I hope you enjoy!
